Privacy policy
How BECK handles your data.
Last updated: 1 August 2026
BECK ("the game", "we", "us") is a mobile detective game published by CR-APPS. This policy explains what data the game collects, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. By playing BECK you agree to the practices described here.
Summary
- BECK is free to play and does not require you to create an account to play.
- We collect crash diagnostics and anonymous gameplay analytics to keep the game stable and well-balanced.
- If you choose to sign in with Google Play Games, your achievements and saved progress are stored with Google so they can sync across your devices. Signing in is optional.
- BECK shows optional rewarded video ads via Google AdMob — you can choose to watch one to earn in-game hints. All ads are non-personalized, and your device's advertising identifier is not sent to AdMob.
- You can turn off analytics and crash reporting at any time in the game's Settings → Privacy.
- We do not sell your personal data.
What we collect, and why
Crash and performance diagnostics
If the game crashes or misbehaves, Firebase Crashlytics collects a diagnostic report: a stack trace (including native crash data), your device model and Android version, and an app-generated installation identifier. We use this only to find and fix bugs.
Gameplay analytics
Firebase Analytics records anonymized gameplay events — for example when a case starts, a clue is collected, a case is completed, a rank changes, or a hint is used — together with technical information it collects automatically (an app-instance identifier, device type, and an approximate region derived from your IP address). We use this to understand how the game is played and to balance difficulty. It is not used to identify you personally, and it is not used to target ads. You can turn gameplay analytics off in the game's Settings → Privacy.
Remote game configuration
The game fetches balancing settings from Cloud Firestore when it starts. This is a one-way read of configuration we publish — no personal data about you is uploaded to Firestore.
Google Play Games (optional)
If you sign in with Google Play Games Services, Google provides the game with your Play Games player identifier so it can record your achievements and store your saved progress (a "cloud save") with Google, letting you continue on another device. This data is handled by Google under Google's Privacy Policy. You can play the entire game without signing in, and you can sign out at any time.
Advertising
BECK offers optional rewarded video ads that you can choose to watch in exchange for in-game hints. Ads are served by Google AdMob. You are never required to watch ads to play.
Every ad request BECK makes is tagged as child-directed, with ad content limited to a general-audience ("G") rating. This means all ads you see are non-personalized — they are not selected using a profile of you or your interests — and, in line with Google's policy for child-directed requests, your device's advertising identifier is not transmitted to AdMob. AdMob still processes limited technical and ad-interaction data (such as whether an ad was shown and completed) in order to deliver and measure ads.
Data stored on your device
Your game progress is saved locally on your device. This stays on your device unless you have signed in to Google Play Games, in which case a copy is also stored with Google as your cloud save.
Third-party services
BECK relies on the following Google services, which may process data as described above:
- Google Firebase — Crashlytics, Analytics, and Firestore. See the Firebase privacy and security page.
- Google Play Games Services — sign-in, achievements, and cloud saves. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Google AdMob — non-personalized ad delivery and measurement. See how Google uses advertising data.
How data is shared
We share data only with the service providers listed above, acting on our behalf to run the game. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising beyond the optional ad feature described above. Aggregated, anonymized statistics may be used to describe how the game is performing.
Data retention
Crash and analytics data are retained according to the Firebase services' default retention periods. Your Google Play Games cloud save is retained by Google until you delete it or remove the game from your Play Games account. You can request deletion of data we hold at any time (see below).
Your choices and rights
- In-game privacy settings: you can turn gameplay analytics and crash reporting off at any time in BECK's Settings → Privacy.
- Play Games: sign-in is optional; you can sign out or disconnect the game in your Google Play Games settings.
- Advertising identifier: BECK does not collect your device's advertising identifier by any route — it is not sent to AdMob, and analytics collection of it is switched off. You can still reset or delete that identifier, or opt out of ad personalization system-wide, in your Android device settings (Settings → Privacy / Ads).
- Local data: uninstalling BECK removes all data stored locally on your device.
- Deletion request: you can ask us to delete data we hold about you — see the data deletion request page.
- Legal rights: depending on where you live (for example under Singapore's PDPA, the EU/UK GDPR, or California's CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.
Children's privacy
BECK is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
International data transfers
The Google services above may process and store data on servers in other countries. Those transfers are governed by the service providers' own safeguards and privacy commitments.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the game evolves. We will update the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, provide a notice in the game or on this site.
